Sue Underwood (Centre Director) MBACP (Accred.)
I am a person centred therapist with eleven years counselling experience in private practice, the NHS and the voluntary sector. I will offer you a safe non-judgemental space to explore your thoughts and feelings and I will support you on this journey. The person centred approach to therapy is based on the principle that individuals have the resources within themselves to move forward given the right supportive environment. My specialist areas of work include anxiety/depression, stress, bereavement and couples therapy.
Therapists Working at the Centre
The counsellors and psychotherapists who work at Lynwood House are individual practitioners who are keen to ensure a quality service. Individuals have been vetted but it is important to note that clients contract with the individual therapist rather than with the Centre. All therapists are members of an appropriate professional body and as such work to a professionally recognised Code of Ethics.
Christine Curbisheley MBACP.
After a long career in staff management and development, I trained as a person-centred therapist to help people to grow in a different way. Since then I have worked within an NHS setting, in the voluntary sector and in private practice. In a confidential setting, away from distractions, I will help you explore whatever is causing you distress so you can find your personal way forward. I work with whatever you bring and will respect your lifestyle, values and choices without judgement.
Ged Hindley MBACP
I gained my Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling at Warrington Collegiate and since then I have been working with clients in the voluntary sector and in private practice.
I made the decision to study Person Centred Therapy as a direct result of my own experiences in life. I like the fact that at the core of this therapy is the belief that each one of us has the ability to find our own unique solution to what is troubling us.
I have extensive experience of counselling the homeless, people suffering post addiction, depression and bereavement/loss.
